Sitting in Colour: Immersive Art by Joey Sofa and Rexperience!
Looking for something cool to do? Well, Joey Sofa has collaborated with Rexperience in building an immersive exhibit that blends comfort, colour and creativity. Called “Sitting in Colour”, it’s a multi-sensory exhibition that is meant to reimagine comfort through art, colour and interactivity.
The official launch happened at REX KL, where guests discovered how colour can transform mood, space and emotion. All whilst lounging on Malaysia’s cosiest, modular sofa: Joey Sofa.
Sitting in Colour is a multi-sensory journey through colour and comfort, with expressive dance performances, mesmerising light shows, interactive art stations and personalised photo ops! All these experiences and activities are meant to evoke a specific feeling. All centred around Joey Sofa’s eight colourways, they want you to feel self-expression, connection or playfulness.
The wide range of hands-on activities included:
- Glow Portraits: A photobooth that captured people’s vibes in dreamy technicolour.
- Wall of Color: Guests voted for their favourite colour and left fun messages, sparking lighthearted colour wars.
- Joey Pouch Live Embroidery: A Joey Sofa keepsake that guests got to personalise.
- Joey Blindboxes: Some special guests got a little box of cosy fun to take home.
All these were accompanied by the many Joey Sofas in the hall for guests to lounge on. They could assemble, test out and laze around on the Jory Sofas. , showing that form, function, and fun could come together in one stylish package. It was a successful event with media, creators, partners and friends of the brand showing full support. Most importantly, enjoying the mellow vibes and well, comfy seats. This marks a bold new step for Joey Sofa.
And here’s the good news! As you’re reading this, until October 12th 2025, people can still go to REXKL to check out the Sitting in Colour show! It will be playing as an interlude between Rexperience’s regular programmes. The Joey Sofas will also be staying on display for visitors to sink into.
